I would like to quote Helen Keller - "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only
through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and
success achieved".
Sometimes in life, we have to start again, in another direction, in a different way. No matter
what our age, we can always start again, try something new, even go back to something we may
have done in the past. As long as we hold on to the lessons learned and act on them, anything is
possible. Family, friends and spirit are what we need to hold on to, even as we are trying to start
again, as they are what will keep us balanced and help us to move on to new things. I have found
that even when things look bleak, our "Higher power" has a plan for us, if we have the patience
to wait.
I would like to make this site about sharing thoughts and ideas which may be helpful to someone,
but also, will have a shopping page or two, which will hopefully help me pay the rent on my site,
because as you know nothing comes free in this life except for death and taxes, maybe not in that
order.
I was just thinking today about all we have to be grateful for, and yet we have war, and we need to
support our troops. They didn't ask to be at war, but are trying to defend freedoms here and around
the world. If you stop to think, however, there probably may be more people killed here on our
streets and in our schools every day than there are our soldiers killed in Iraq. When are our
politicians going to get the illegal guns and drugs off our streets and out of our communities so
that our children can be safe?
